Chase Rice To Release 'LAMBS & LIONS (WORLDWIDE DELUXE)' On MARCH 1ST

With annual U.K. shows becoming the norm for Platinum-selling singer-songwriter Chase Rice, his passionate audience base has spread across the pond at an incredible rate.

He was recently featured on the U.K.'s biggest radio station, BBC R2, for a session on The Country Show with Bob Harris and will soon return for the C2C (Country to Country) Music Festival 2019. To celebrate this international success, Rice is thanking his loyal fans across the globe with Lambs & Lions (Worldwide Deluxe), available worldwide as the title implies on Friday, March 1st.

'Our European fans blew us away when they sold out our first overseas tour two years ago, and they haven’t let up since,' shares Rice. 'We spent the end of 2018 in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham – and they sang every word to our album cuts, especially ‘On Tonight’ off Lambs & Lions. That reaction is what inspired us to create a special U.K. version of the song, and then we asked ourselves, ‘why stop there?’ I’m excited that we can get this new music in their hands right before we head back over for C2C in March.'

Lambs & Lions (Worldwide Deluxe) features the original album’s 10 tracks, including U.S. Top 20 lead single 'Three Chords & The Truth' as well as current Top 20 smash hit 'Eyes On You,' which has been streamed 100 million times and counting. The deluxe edition also boasts re-imagined versions of 'On Tonight' and 'Eyes On You' as well as new music with 'Love Me Like You Don’t' and '25 Wexford St.,' which takes its name from an Irish pub’s address.

As U.K.-based Country Music Magazine proclaims, 'Chase Rice will be bringing the good times to C2C this year.' Praised by fellow U.K. outlets Entertainment Focus for having audiences 'completely in the palm of his hand' as well as Building Our Own Nashville as 'globally in-demand' and 'one of country music’s most exciting voices,' Rice will take the C2C stage at London’s O2 Arena on Friday March 8th; Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Saturday March 9th; and Dublin’s 3 Arena on Sunday March 10th.

MAVIS STAPLES Announces US Birthday Shows + European Summer Dates and Covers TALKING HEAD

Mavis Staples is thrilled to announce three celebratory US shows commemorating her 80th birthday this year.

Presented by Newport Folk, the shows will take place this May at New York City’s Apollo Theater, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and Los Angeles’s Theatre at Ace Hotel. Called Mavis & Friends: Celebrating 80 Years of Mavis Staples, the trio of shows will feature Mavis and special guests each night. Proceeds from the Mavis & Friends shows will go directly towards extending the Newport Festivals Foundation’s support of music education programs in New York, Nashville and Los Angeles.

'I must be the happiest girl in the world,' said Staples, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Kennedy Center Honoree. 'After all this time, I still do what I love… I never thought I would still be singing at my age, and people seem to really want to hear me, they know me, they give me love—I'm just overwhelmed, really. I thank God every night before I go to bed and then again every morning for waking up.'

Staples will also be honored on 14th March at the Luck Reunion at Willie Nelson’s Ranch, which takes place in Luck, Texas every year during SXSW. This year's Luck Reunion will feature a female–dominated stage headlined by Staples. The stage’s other female acts include Mountain Man, Courtney Marie Andrews, Haley Heyndrickx, Angie McMahon, Yola, Brandy Zdan, and Sunny War. Throughout the day, each performer will honor Staples' outstanding legacy by putting their unique spin on one of her songs as part of their set.

In addition to her upcoming performances, Mavis released her new live album Live in London this past Friday, 8th February. The focus of this collection is material Staples has recorded since signing with ANTI- Records in 2007, including songs that were written for her by iconoclastic artists like Nick Cave, Neko Case, Merrill Garbus (Tune-Yards) and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco.

Recorded over two nights at London’s Union Chapel (which she calls 'the best place in the world to sing') and produced by Staples herself, Live in London reveals that the singer retains astonishing power after seventy years as a performer. While her repertoire continues to expand, her philosophy is unchanged since her days in the groundbreaking family group the Staple Singers. Watch her perform the Talking Heads’ 'Slippery People' below:

Mavis Staples is one of our few remaining links to an extraordinary time when the gospel tradition and the fight for social justice were deeply entwined. As Live in London demonstrates, Staples continues to fight the fight—and to rock the house.
